It's been over a year since I posted anything. I guess I'm of a generation that prefers to live life rather than write about it. My surgery is over now and it's the same old story. "If you over-do it still hurts", so I'm learning not to do that. I forged ahead with my idea of going into business for myself as a cooking instructor. My son helped me to make up business cards with my own logo, but I'm finding that it's as it is with most things, the more effort you put into it, the more you get out of it. I made up presentation material and also started on my book. I'm still taking care of my grandkids after school so it probably won't be possible for me to move ahead yet with teaching a class at the park district on cooking. I'm still knitting and have taken up a new hobby. I started making my own jewelry. It's just like most hobbies, you buy a lot of material but you need to use it and you always make mistakes at first. Today I finally got side drilled crystal drop beads secured on a wire to attach to earring posts. I also viewed a tutorial and when I went to drop off some jewelry for cleaning, I saw several design ideas in the jewelry store that I can copy somewhat. We are looking forward to spending a week in Minneapolis for my Mother-in-law's 96th birthday on July 14th. We leave on the 9th and return on the 16th. This time we will be taking the grandkids as my son & Daughter-in-law are both unable to make it this year. Above is the last picture we took of the family together.
